I came to Dr. Varella very apprehensive as I have an extensive medical history, much of which has impacted on the health of my mouth and teeth. Dr. Varella's staff was kind and exceptionally accommodating. Dr. Varella is one of the most intelligent and compassionate dentists I have ever met. He took the time to explain everything, he was extremely knowledgable and understood my unique medical situations. I would highly recommend him.

My husband and I are on vacation for the first time in 4 years when my husband's tooth starts to ache on the plane. He toughs out the pain until finally we end up in the ER. I spent hours calling oral surgeons and endodontists. As soon as the receptionist here, Amber, picked up I could tell she was going to be the first to give a darn about my husband being in excruciating pain. I explained that the earliest we could come in was 2, because of the 6 hour time difference at home (our insurance company in Hawaii wasn't open until 8am). She got us a 2:45 appointment, spent her own time online helping me figure out how to use our insurance in Jacksonville, explained why my husband was feeling like he was, contacted the emergency dentist we saw in Georgia on our way down to Florida, and then at 2 (before our appointment) called the Hawaii insurance company to work out payment. Between dentists not working on Fridays in Georgia, to no help from anyone here in Florida, to this level of help and caring had me near tears when I finally dropped my husband off for his appointment. I will be forever grateful for this office and their staff.

Dr Varella is very professional and personable. He accommodated my schedule for a root canal that needed to happen before my extended travel to Asia. He explained everything and called me the following day to see how I was feeling. I'd definitely recommend him to friends and family.

My husband came in for an appointment for a root canal. Our experience form the very first phone call to coming into the office was exceptional. From the moment we walked into the office, we were greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. We were offered coffee/ water and told to make ourselves at home. It wasn’t but a few minutes and the assistant took us back. Dr. Varella has the best bedside manner taking his time to explain why my husband needs a root canal and answered all of our questions. He was very caring and kind. We were then taken back up front by the assistant and made my husband’s appointment for the root canal. We had questions about our insurance in which Tina explained in detail what our policy covers. We then told her that my husband is nervous and asked what options we had with making him feel at ease. Tina checked with the doctor and gave us our options. She then printed out a prescription and had Dr. Varella sign. It wasn’t just another doctors visit, this office is different. It is of a other caliber above other offices. We laughed with Dr. Varella and Tina. We took selfies just for fun in which Tina helped with and was just made to feel completely comfortable and relaxed. Any anxieties or concerns that we had before coming in to the office, are completely gone now. We would recommend this office to anyone and if we could give it a ten star rating, we would. Thank you for making our first visit actually enjoyable. Especially at an root canal specialist. Who would have thought it was possible.
