So you have to have a root canal. You trust your dentist when he refers you to Dr. Varella. But, you still ask around and read reviews. All feedback says "Five Stars". Well there should be a 10 star. I had a lengthy appt, am a dental phobic and fully expected a rough visit. It was anything but...Amber greets you cheerfully, remembers details about you and puts you at ease. Abby gets you settled in. She is kind and attentive and you can tell she knows her stuff. But the icing on the cake is Dr. Varella. It was if he had all the time in the world to take care of me and my dental issue. He is highly recommend and respected in the dental community, but as a patient I can tell you he is awesome. I have another appt and have no hesitation in going back and putting my faith in his skill and care.

My experience at this office was amazing. My husband was referred to Dr. Varella last week and they got us in right away. The receptionist Amber was amazing and called us before hand to let us know the out of pocket so we wouldn’t be surprised when we came in. Everyone in the staff was so friendly and caring. I would highly recommended this office to anyone.

I am a type 1 insulin dependent diabetic and I have had four old root canals retreated with Dr. Varella. The teeth were abscessed and with my precarious health situation, Dr. Varella prescribed antibiotics to help rid my teeth of the infection, which in turn, lessened the pain. The friendly and knowledgeable staff of Amber at the front desk and Divina, Dr. Varella's assistant, was very comforting to me.

AWESOME!. I start off by saying I don't like going to the dentist (It's painful all most all the time). But this "Man" was "Awesome". How do I describe him? 1. Excellent communication skills (explain everything) 2. He tried his best to make me feel comfortable (Root canal) Tho he tried to clam my fears, the anxiety was still there as always. (but he was aware of that and tried to clam me. (Awesome) 3. strong interpersonal skills 4. Best of all good manual dexterity skills (my mouth is small). Let's not forget that "Staff" (Awesome) they were professional and very pleasant. "Wow:. Will I go again to him ("yes") Do I feel less anxious about the dentist ("No"),but he was wonderful and so was his staff. They are a reflection of a good dentist and business man.

This was the best experience I’ve ever had with a Root Canal. It started with the phone call with Amber Front Desk and Insurance Person, my next step was with Heather the Dental Assistant then Dr. Varella. I can’t say enough about the care this team provided, there was no pain even with the stick for the numbing process. This Doctor is the BEST, I’ve had three other root canals and I tell you this is the place and team you want working on You!! 100 Stars. The Doctor and his Team has it going on. There is no other place I would have doing a root canal on me but the office of Dr.Varella. ******* The BEST!

This team is OUTSTANDING. My overall visit couldn’t have gone any smoother. The office coordinator, Amber, was extremely cheerful and knowledgeable from my initial encounter of scheduling my appointment. She helped me complete any paperwork needed and obtained all of my insurance information prior. She answered all my questions and helped serene my fears as well as clarify what the treatment entailed. She truly showed me she cared about me and my pain as a patient that mattered to her, which is very hard to find in any business. Dr. Varella then put all my fears to ease. I was extremely apprehensive about the procedure I was about to endure. My fiancé assured me I was in wonderful hands and he was extremely gentle. I absolutely despise going to the dentist due to the fear of the needle. I couldn’t believe how considerate Dr. Varella was toward my feelings of anxiety. He comforted me as well as his assistant Heather. She took excellent care of me and helped me relax. She reassured me everything was going to be okay and they were going to relieve me of the tooth pain I was experiencing. Abbey, the other assistant was just as helpful and friendly also alleviating my fears. He evaluated my tooth in depth and explained everything thoroughly, as well as answered all of my questions of alarming concerns due to my fear. He has a technique that is amazing. The initial injection didn’t hurt one bit! I couldn’t believe it! I immediately applauded him for his gentle ability and thanked him. Once I got past the shots, it was smooth sailing from there. He worked quickly, yet efficiently to take the best care of me and give me a terrific result. The office is extremely clean, elegant and up to date with all the latest equipment including a microscope to see inside my tooth which helped him find 4 canals inside my tooth! I wish Dr. Varella did generalized dentistry because he would be my dentist FOR SURE. This well-equipped team is top notch. I would NEVER recommend another endodontist. They even stayed after hours to help me get out of pain! After speaking with him personally, he actually taught some of the dentists and other endodontists here in the Jacksonville area at the University of Florida. He is overall a good family man and has a well-established team that went above and beyond. I can not thank Varella Endodontics team enough for the wonderful care I received. I can't say enough about how amazing this group is. Amber was very welcoming when I walked in the door and Dr. Varella and Heather took excellent care of me. This office stayed open over 2 hours after closing because they knew I needed them. I needed a root canal on two teeth they took their time and explained thoroughly what they were doing. Amber was also very clear in helping me with my insurance and explained my billing to the penny. I would go back just to have a cup of coffee and hang out with them.

I couldn't be more happy with my experience here. I originally just went in for a precautionary appointment to see if one of my teeth might need a root canal. When I went in for my first appointment, Amber, who was working at the front desk, helped me and my mom with an insurance complication. After the tests were completed and I found out I did in fact need one I was a little stressed because I was leaving for college in 3 days! Dr. Varella made sure to fit me in immeadiately and I ended up coming in the very next day. Abbey, Dr. Varella's assistant was super nice before, during and after the procedure and made sure that I was comfortable. Dr. Varella continuously asked how I was doing, making sure that I felt no pain the entire time and making jokes occasionally to make sure I was at ease. All in all a wonderful experience, super friendly people and a great environment!
